ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

·        Kitchen Now Open - Due to popular demand, Our kitchen in the Parish Hall will be open Tuesdays from 9am - 12pm.  Varenyky, Borsch, Cabbage Rolls and Patychky (meat on a stick) will be available for purchase.  Smachoho!

·        Youth Room - Students and teachers are continuing to work on the Youth Room! They are hoping to have it completed by November. Upon completion, activities will be planned on Fridays with Father Roman.  All our youth members are invited to participate!! Further details to follow.

·        Outreach - If anyone knows of any our shut-ins who would like to receive confession and communion, please contact Father Roman at (905) 804-9823.

·        Office Hours - Father Roman is holding office hours at the Rectory by appointment only.  If it's a Feast Day, Father Roman will not be available.

·        Congratulations - to the U.W.A.C. for donating a copy of "Treasured Recipes" to the St. Catharines Public Library!  This cookbook is now part of the library's collection and available for public usage.

·        Coffee Hour - is scheduled following the Divine Liturgy and all Feast Days.  It's a great chance to catch up with friends and make new acquaintances!!

·        Library Committee - is recruiting new members.  Anyone interested in joining, please call Noreen Bartkiw.  This is an excellent group which works to enrich our church and cultural life.

·         Membership Dues – We humbly ask all our faithful to pay their membership dues for 2007 as soon as possible so we could pay off our debt to the Consistory.  We graciously thank you for your attention to this important matter and responsibility.

·         Klub Kalyna - meets every Tuesday from 1:00 to 3:00 in the afternoon in the church hall.  Friends and new comers are always welcome!  Please contact Robert Hrynkiw for more information.

·         Sunday School - We encourage all children to participate in our Church School.  We ask our parents to talk about the benefits of participating in Sunday activities.  Let us teach our children to learn about their Orthodox faith and their Ukrainian heritage!

·         Zehrs and A&P encourage people to keep their receipts.  Both stores give $1 for receipts that amount to $450 in purchases.  We ask you to please bring your receipts and drop them in the box at the entrance of the church.

·         Recycling Box – will be in the parking lot.  Please deposit all paper products into the box.  Our church will be reimbursed for the according to the weight of the paper.

·         Every Orthodox Child, having attained the age of 7, should be prepared for the Holy Mystery of Confession.  We ask that if you have children, grandchildren or Godchildren who are 7 years or older and have not yet approached for the Holy Mystery of Confession, please contact Father Roman.

·         Confession:  Half an hour before the liturgy or by appointment.  Those who do not know or have any doubts regarding the Orthodox Faith, cannot come to Holy Confession without talking to father first.  Children under the age of seven are allowed to come to Holy Communion without coming to Confession.

·         Baptisms:  Parents should arrange a personal meeting with the priest to make arrangements.  At leas one parent should be an active Orthodox Christian when setting the date for baptism and at least one godparent should be a practicing Orthodox Christian.  Baptizing a child in the Orthodox Church presupposes that the child will be raised as an Orthodox Christian.

·         Weddings:  Couples should arrange a personal meeting with the priest to make arrangements.  At least one party should be an active Orthodox Christian when setting the date for marriage.
